For certain users of Sage UBS we have seen the appearance of non-Malaysian GST tax codes. These are usually tax codes of the GST implemenation of Singapore, Thailand or other countries.

Why does this happen?

  • The company data was triggered before with another country setting, but is not obvious as previously no tax code was used and activated.
  • Accidental activation.

What is the solution?

By running a new feature available in the tax codes maintenance, this will remove all unecesssary standard tax codes from other countries and repopulates the standard tax codes of Malaysia GST. However, if the user has create custom tax codes, for example for SST. These tax codes will remain.
