Purchase Debit Note also referred to as "PDN"; is used to address credit note received from the supplier. Under normal circumstances it is issued to contra against the original billing raised earlier such as over billing, goods returned, extra discounts to be given and so forth.

Sales Debit Note also referred to as "DN"; this function is used to address debit note issued to the customer. Under normal circumstances it supplements the original billing raised earlier such as under billing, extra charges incurred and so forth.
